# Service bulletin SSM 51509

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10233919
- Published by NHTSA: 2023\-04\-06
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 51509
- Manufacturer's date: 2023\-03\-24
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\)

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2021\-2023 F\-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.3L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) with DTC P0171 stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to the software of the PCM. Engineering is currently investigating this concern. To temporarily address this issue, clear the DTC and run the PCM \- Reset the Keep Alive Memory \(KAM\) application in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). Inform the customer they can continue to drive the vehicle. Monitor OASIS for additional updates.
