Service bulletin TSB220250

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

This Technical Service Bulletin describes the verification and resolution of instances of Fault Code 1883 or 5715 occuring with Fault Codes 1921, 1922 or 1981. The aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) differential pressure sensor is susceptible to moisture intrusion that can cause false occurences of Fault Codes 1921, 1922 and/or 1981, which will lead to unnecessary aftertreatment DPF replacement. This TSB describes how to properly address this condition.
