# Service bulletin SSM 51295

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10230797
- Published by NHTSA: 2023\-01\-31
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 51295

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2020\-2022 Transit, 2022 E\-Transit vehicles built on or before 26\-Apr\-2022 may exhibit a lack of power steering assist at initial vehicle start\-up with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) C102D:00 stored in the power steering control module \(PSCM\). This may be due to the PSCM software. To correct this condition, update the PSCM to the latest software level using the latest version of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) tool. If the DTC C102D:00 returns, continue with diagnostics and repair direction from Workshop Manual, Section 211\-02. For claiming, use causal part 3504 and applicable labor operations in Sections 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
