# Service bulletin T\-SB\-0094\-21 Rev

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

TSB: Some 2005 ? 2022 model year Toyota vehicles that have undergone water intrusion may exhibit a condition in which a musty smell is present. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to remediate the odor and address this condition. The purpose of this service bulletin is to provide general guidelines and procedures for odor remediation. This service bulletin provides a guide on how to prepare the interior of the vehicle prior to an odor remediation being performed, as well as contact information for an approved vendor who will arrange the remediation, and instructions on how to prepare the interior of the vehicle for reassembly once the remediation has been completed. Refer to all model and model year specific Repair Manuals and the EPA \(Environmental Protection Agency\) website for the most up\-to\-date safety and precautionary guidelines. This service bulletin is to provide a general overview and direction for the odor remediation process.

DD: Toyota has worked with Carma Project, Inc. on a tagging program for Takata recalls in certain ?Zone A? areas in an effort to increase completions in higher risk locations. Carma uses license plate reading technology to determine if a vehicle may have an open recall. When a vehicle with an open recall is found, Carma drivers print out and place a tag on the vehicle they encounter advising the driver of the recall and the need to get the vehicle repaired. Carma recently changed its tagging platform, enabling it to offer expanded tagging through Carma ?affiliates? in more locations in the U.S.
