NHTSA's summary
Per the recall notice received by Lightning eMotors 22V720: "Lightning eMotors Inc has determined that due to a discrepancy in the instrument panel software, multiple errors can occur: the “BRAKE” telltale may not properly illuminate during a low fluid condition, the ABS telltale may not illuminate for certain ABS system malfunctions, and the ABS telltale is red instead of the required yellow. Accordingly, these vehicles do not comply with Federal motor vehicle safety standard (FMVSS) No. 101, Controls and displays, and FMVSS No. 105, Hydraulic and electric brake systems. If the telltales do not illuminate properly, the driver may not be properly warned of a low brake fluid condition or ABS malfunction, increasing the risk of a crash. An authorized Lightning eMotors Inc dealer will update the instrument panel software."
