A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

DRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft \(Axle Shaft\) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT\-DUST BOOT \(CV Joint Boot Kit\) availability. • If there is a REPAIR KIT\-DUST BOOT \(CV Joint Boot Kit\) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION \& DRIVELINE \> FRONT AXLE \> REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION \> FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle \(drive shaft\) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over\-repair may be charged back to the dealer. • If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT\-DUST BOOT \(CV Joint Boot Kit\) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to NTB21\-013 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [WBI/21\-002](/bulletins/11024393.md), 2025-10-21, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. CAMPAIGN BULLETIN CVT Warranty Extension In an effort to assure customer satisfaction, demonstrate our confidence in continuously variable transmissions \(CVTs\), and to address customer concerns including those expressed by customers in a class action, Nissan will extend the warranty coverage on the CVT. The warranty extension includes the CVT assembly and internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals, CVT control valve body, torque converter, cooler kit \(if applicable\), Automatic Transmission Control Unit \(ATCU\) and reprogramming of the Transmission Control Module \(TCM\), on the vehicles listed in this announcement. The warranty is being extended from its original duration of 60 months/60,000 miles to 84 months/84,000 miles \(whichever occurs first\). Coverage of other vehicle components remains unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of Nissan’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply. \*\*\*\*\* What Dealers Should Do \*\*\*\*\* 1. If an owner contacts a dealer with a CVT concern in an owned or leased vehicle, verify warranty coverage for the specific VIN and then inform the customer of any diagnostic charges. NOTE: Some owners may have opted out of the warranty extension by excluding themselves from the class action settlement, thus it is important to check the VIN for each vehicle to verify coverage. 2. Use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin \(TSB\) and/or Electronic Service Manual \(ESM\) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the customer concerns. NOTE: Dealers will need to follow the warranty process and obtain pre\-approval using the VCAT tool. Please reference WBI/21\-002. Control valves and CVT belt and pulley kits do not require pre\-authorization for repairs made under warranty if they are within the dealer’s DCAL limit. 3. CVT warranty coverage can be confirmed using the warranty extensions/customer service initiatives page in Service Comm or DBS National Service History. 4. If the vehicle is no longer covered by a powertrain or parts warranty, provide owners a repair estimate for a test drive, diagnosis, and repair. If an owner requests assistance, be sure to consult goodwill guidelines available in the Assurance Products Resources Manual \(APRM\) section 2.2 and obtain the necessary approvals before proceeding.
- [NTB23\-023B](/bulletins/11014473.md), 2025-02-25, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. FLUID LEAK FROM THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE ACTUATOR MOTOR PLASTIC THREADS SERVICE INFORMATION Figure 1 Figure 2 If the front differential has a fluid leak coming from the actuator motor plastic threads \(Figure 1\): a. Place an alignment mark on the splined actuator body and the gear carrier \(Figure 2\). b. Remove the actuator and thoroughly clean the threads, making sure not to allow RTV to fall into the differential case. c. Once clean, apply Three Bond sealant to the threads, and then reinstall the actuator motor, making sure to line up the alignment marks. d. Check the front differential gear oil level and top to specification. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION \& DRIVELINE \> DRIVELINE \> FRONT FINAL DRIVE: MA235/MA210 \> PERIODIC MAINTENANCE \> FRONT DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL DO NOT replace the front differential due to a fluid leak from the actuator motor plastic threads unless there has been consequential damage due to fluid loss \(bearing failure or gear noise\) to the front differential.
