Service bulletin SIL 3020

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Altec has learned that the threaded hardware between the rotary joint and slip ring could have been installed incorrectly on certain AA, AN, AN-OC, AM, and A Class aerial devices built from January 2021 to February 2022. This can cause the rotary joint restraint bracket to disengage from contact with the rotation-bearing cap screw heads, allowing the outer housing of the rotary joint to turn in the pedestal and cause damage to the attached hoses.
