# Service bulletin 21\-014\-14

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Flash: Surge, Shudder or Pulsation at Highway Speeds This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module \(PCM\) with new software. This is an optional software update that should only be used in situations where the customer is specifically complaining of the condition described below. A small number of customers may experience a surge, shudder or pulsation type sensation when driving on smooth road surfaces at highway speeds of 40\-80 mph \(64\-129 km/h\). Some customers may also describe the sensation similar to that of a fish biting on a fishing line. This is an optional software update that should only be used in situations where the customer is specifically complaining of the above condition. There will be two separate software options displayed on the wiTECH flash tab. The software file released for this SB contains the verbiage ?REFERENCE SB 18\-035\-14. THIS FLASH TO BE USED ONLY FOR SHUDDER COMPLAINTS?. The other file is the standard software that does not contain improvements for this complaint. If for some reason the customer finds this shudder improvement objectionable, the PCM software may be returned/reflashed to the standard version. If the customer complains of the above condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
- [18\-026\-14](/bulletins/10139620.md), 2018-06-11, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Flash: Powertrain System Improvements/Enhancements This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module \(PCM\) with new software. The following powertrain system improvements/enhancements are included in this software release: Automatic Oil Change Indicator\(AOCI\) system enhancements that force the use of the severe duty cycle algorithm anytime the PCM is replaced. The vehicle duty cycle information used in the AOCI calculation is stored in the PCM and cannot be recovered/transferred when the controller is replaced. As a result, the severe duty cycle is used in these scenarios to ensure the customer receives a timely oil change required message.
- [N28060613](/bulletins/10136882.md), 2018-05-21, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:COOLING UNIT AND LINES; STEERING. New Safety Recall Advanced Communication ? N28060613 Chrysler Group LLC \(Chrysler\) announced a safety recall on certain 2012 and 2013 model year \(JK\) Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Some of the above vehicles may experience a condition where the power steering return tube contacts the aluminum transmission oil cooler tube. Continuous contact of the aluminum transmission oil cooler tube against the power steering return tube could cause a wear hole in the aluminum transmission oil cooler tube. This can result in a loss of transmission fluid which may damage the transmission and/or a loss of transmission function. Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all involved vehicles to replace the power steering return tube and inspect the transmission oil cooler tube for damage. Damaged transmission oil cooler tubes will be replaced. Transmission oil cooler tubes that are not damaged will receive a protective sleeve. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established methods used in the past. We ask that you please take the time to ensure that your personnel are aware of this communication and are prepared to execute a customer friendly process for inquiries on involved vehicles.
