# Service bulletin 09\-029\-22

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where the power outer mirror will not fold in and/or out when the outer mirror holding switch \(1\) is operated. This may be caused by: 1. The electric fold\-in unit inside the outer mirror may be damaged by corrosion from water entry due to insufficient water tightness. 2. The electric fold\-in unit may interfere with the outer mirror frame due to improper installation of the electric fold\-in unit. 3. The friction around the shaft of the folding mechanism may increase To eliminate this concern, the following changes have been implemented: 1. The overlapping part of the water\-proof sealing inside the electric fold\-in unit \(it cannot be seen from the outside\) has been extended and the flange \(1\) has been attached instead of a water proof seal. 2. The height of the mirror frame rib has been changed. 3. The material of the washer has been changed and another washer has been added to the shaft

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SA\-039\-23a](/bulletins/10243569.md), 2023-10-05, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE; VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage when parked near a glass building or Low\-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection.
- [SA\-012\-23](/bulletins/10233704.md), 2023-04-04, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; VISIBILITY. Some customers may report an odor or water in the HVAC system and upon inspection, the cabin air filter may be found to be wet.
- [SA\-010\-23](/bulletins/10232304.md), 2023-03-03, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; VISIBILITY; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience one or more electrical malfunctions after a vehicle body repair. The newly painted fender stay \(2\) may be causing a poor front harness \(1\) ground connection.
- [09\-010\-23](/bulletins/10232282.md), 2023-03-03, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY; BACK OVER PREVENTION; VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. 3. The friction around the shaft of the folding mechanism may increase.
- [SA\-074\-22](/bulletins/10226923.md), 2022-12-02, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain the HVAC system not maintaining the correct temperature or the ambient \(outside\) temperature reading incorrectly. This is caused by a failure in the ambient temperature sensor. To correct this issue, the ambient temperature sensor has been modified.
- [SA\-040\-21](/bulletins/10198691.md), 2021-07-01, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage when parked near a glass building or Low\-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection.
- [MT\-003\-21](/bulletins/10198574.md), 2021-06-29, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage when parked near a glass building. This may be caused by the suns reflection. If a building creates enough of a curve with a series of flat windows, which act like mirrors, the reflections all converge at one point, focusing and concentrating the light onto the street below.
- [SA\-022\-21](/bulletins/10189946.md), 2021-04-06, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:HUD:CAMERA/SENSOR; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; VISIBILITY. When performing the MGSS Workshop Manual 360° View Monitor System Aiming Procedure, M\-MDS may show error message "Procedure unsuccessful". This may be caused by light glare on the SST.
- [15\-003\-20\-3737](/bulletins/10180670.md), 2020-10-03, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; VISIBILITY; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM. Some vehicles may exhibit that the SBS/SCBS warning light \(amber\) turns ON right after the engine is started with DTC U0420:68 \[FSC\] stored in memory. • DTC U0420:68 \[Forward sensing camera \(FSC\)\]: Error signal received from electric power steering \(EPS\) control module. For Mazda6 and CX\-5, the following error messages may appear in the instrument cluster. • Front camera sensor system malfunction • Forward Smart City Brake Support Malfunction • Driver attention alert system malfunction. This may be caused by the battery voltage falling and the EPS control module failing the initial learning for the steering center position while cranking. The FSC detects the error notified by the EPS control module. To correct this concern, the control software of the EPS control module has been modified while the repair procedure modifies the FSC for earlier repairs in the market.
- [SA\-062\-20](/bulletins/10179313.md), 2020-09-03, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; PARKING BRAKE; VISIBILITY; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. Some customers may complain about the following message displayed in the Multi\-Information Display: In the following cases, the MRCC with Stop \& Go function system is canceled when the vehicle is traveling at 19 mph \(30 km/h\) or less: • The Forward Sensing Camera \(FSC\) cannot detect target objects due to one of the following: • The windshield is dirty • The FSC lens is foggy • There is low visibility due to rain, fog or snow • It is at night and there is not enough light • There is direct or reflected sunlight on the FSC • There is problem with the FSC • There is a problem with the AUTOHOLD control function. • There is a problem with the electric parking brake \(EPB\).
