# Service bulletin SIB611022

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10218375
- Published by NHTSA: 2022\-08\-22
- Manufacturer's number: SIB611022
- Manufacturer's date: 2022\-06\-01
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

## NHTSA's summary

Due to an incorrect terminal assignment, the compressor circuit is protected with a 30 Amp fuse \(slot F227\). A 40 A fuse \(slot F229\) is required for suitable circuit protection.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [B840226](/bulletins/11035408.md), 2026-07-31, Service campaign: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Once the Telematics Module \(TCB2\) enters sleep mode, a BMW Data Services trigger for Remote Services\(remote engine start, lock/unlock/climate conditioning\) will not be able to reactivate the TCB2. Due to this issue, Remote Services will not function in the vehicle when parked and locked.
- [B640925](/bulletins/11026956.md), 2026-01-05, Service campaign: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. A faulty electric auxiliary heater may have been installed in the certain vehicles. This could result in thefailure of the electric auxiliary heater, utilized for the vehicle interior.
- [B121425](/bulletins/11025669.md), 2025-11-25, Service campaign: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. RSU availability. BMW AG is conducting a Service Action on certain Model Year 2025 \- 2026 BMW vehicles that were produced between March 17, 2021 – November 6, 2025. In certain driving situations there can be a loss of traction or wheel slip followed by a throttle or torque requirement that can potentially damage the axle shafts. Damage of the drive shaft can cause it to break.
- [B640925](/bulletins/11022362.md), 2025-09-03, Service campaign: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. A faulty electric auxiliary heater may have been installed in the certain vehicles. This could result in thefailure of the electric auxiliary heater, utilized for the vehicle interior.

- [B120523](/bulletins/11012080.md), 2024-12-31, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The customer states there is a Drivetrain Malfunction message displayed in the instrument cluster. In addition, the following fault memory entries are saved in the CCU \(Combined Charging Unit\) 0317F2 \- High\-voltage system, insulation fault detected: when switch contactors are closed. 0317F1 \- High\-voltage system, insulation resistance below warning threshold: when switch contactors are closed. The fault memory entries \(isolation faults\) can occur both individually and in combination and must be traced back to the eDrive motor based on the ISTA test procedure. If ISTA test procedure lists possible cause of fault as; A metal chip is found behind the brush module \(between the brush module and the end shield of the electrical machine\). Repair required. Refer to service solution no. 20000794435083 in Aftersales Information Research \(AIR\). Follow information in the Procedure section below.
- [B611224](/bulletins/10253351.md), 2024-05-03, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The Combined Charging Unit \(CCU\) may not have been produced according to BMW specifications. This can lead to an internal coolant leak which can result in a failure of the Combined Charging Unit.Possible faults may include\- HV charging interruption No high\-voltage readiness when starting up The high\-voltage system switching off while driving, causing the vehicle to coast slowly to a stop
- [B610724](/bulletins/10252039.md), 2024-04-01, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Informational Bulletin is intended as a guided work through process to address BEV/PHEV charging issues. The step\-by\-step guide will help walk you through the correct “basic” steps that should be followed when addressing and diagnosing battery electric vehicles \(BEV\) and plug in hybrid vehicles \(PHEV\) charging issues.

This Informational Bulletin is intended as a guided work\-through process to address customer charging complaints. The step\-by\-step guide will help walk you through the “basic” procedure to test the charger/infrastructure when the vehicle does not charge, either at a: Home charger AC Level 1/Level 2 \- Flexible Fast Charger/hard wired Wallbox, or a Public AC Level 2, or DC Level 3 \- Fast Charging Station Note: All PHEV and BEV vehicles may be affected.
- [B610321](/bulletins/10250893.md), 2024-03-02, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS:CANISTER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. SITUATION BMW AG is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall \(effective April 23, 2021\) on a certain Model Year 2020 \- 2021 BMW vehicles that were produced between August 13, 2019 and December 11, 2020. Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre\-Owned or Used vehicle subject to an emissions recall, until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to an emissions recall. The 12 V battery’s dual storage system \(DSS\) may contain a software error which intermittently causes a continuous resetting of the microcontroller and communication failure. The error is displayed by a red Check Control message.
