# Service bulletin ELW\-211FuelFilte

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

In our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes\-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes\-Benz AG \(“MBAG”\), the manufacturer of Mercedes\-Benz vehicles, is extending the warranty coverage on the fuel filter unit in certain Model Year \(“MY”\) vehicles listed below from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles \(whichever occurs first\) due to the following condition: The fuel filter unit might need to be replaced due to minor fuel seepage at the fuel filter flange that could result in fuel odor and/or an activation of the check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp \(“MIL”\). Note that a risk of fire has been ruled out based on the nature of the fuel seepage and the distance to hot components.
