# Service bulletin 1803216

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

The vehicle will exhibit a service transmission/check engine warning indicator for the following transmission models: 845RE, 8HP45, 850RE, 8HP50, 8HP70, 8HP75, 8HP75\-PHEV, 8HP75\-LCV, 8HP90, 8HP95. Transmissions may exhibit the following diagnostic codes: P07E4, P1DB2, P0716, P1B14, P0733, P1D90, P1DB7, P1B13.
- [S2203000003](/bulletins/10229485.md), 2023-01-09, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT. Proper Front Driveshaft Universal Joint \(U\-joint\) Inspection Procedures For All Wheel Drive \(AWD\) Vehicles.
- [W56](/bulletins/10229316.md), 2023-01-09, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Customer Satisfaction Notification W56 Reprogram Powertrain Control Module
- [9003704](/bulletins/10229255.md), 2023-01-09, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. Transmission Oil Pan, Heater \(TMU\), Tube or O\-ring Applies to vehicles equipped with 8 speed transmissions only; if you have a leak that appears to be at the pan the use of proper leak detection is recommended. The fluid in the 8 speeds can be detected with a black light and there are aftermarket spray on leak detection materials to help ensure that the leak is properly diagnosed and not from another location such as cooler lines, heater tubes, or case porosity. Please note that the transmission pan gasket is available for many of the 8 speed applications FCA offers. Please review the available quick connect and transfer tube parts, as replacement of the TMU may not be required. If a TOC line connection is found to be the source, the quick connect may need replacement. If the leak source is coming from the connection of the TMU to the transmission, the transfer tube may need replacement. When parts are returned to the QEC the retaining clips \(snap ring\) for the quick disconnect fittings are missing. \(This leaves a question as to whether the clips were missing from the assembly plant, or the technician removed them in order to make line removal easier.\) Please return the clips with the transmission heater and note if they were not there to begin with. For any questions regarding transmission heater, contact FCA Redacted Content. If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair.
- [S1709000010](/bulletins/10229031.md), 2023-01-09, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Customer complaints may include abnormal engine noise, rough idle, lack of power, misfire. Upon investigation, it may be found that there is excessive camshaft lobe wear/lifter wear \(roller failure\) on one or more cam lobes and that camshaft/lifter replacement is necessary.
- [2102016](/bulletins/10228120.md), 2022-12-19, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; BACK OVER PREVENTION; POWER TRAIN. Manual Transmission Shifter Noise This bulletin involves greasing or replacing the manual transmission rear shifter bushing. Customers may experience a clunk, squeak, or similar noise heard from center console area while shifting.
- [9003704](/bulletins/10224898.md), 2022-10-31, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Trans Oil Pan, Heater Tube or O\-ring, Heater Applies to vehicles equipped with 8 speed transmissions only; If you have a leak that appears to be at the pan the use of proper leak detection is recommended. The fluid in the 8 speeds can be detected with a black light and there are aftermarket spray on leak detection materials to help ensure that the leak is properly diagnosed and not from another location such as cooler lines, heater tubes, or case porosity. If you have a leak concern please note that the transmission pan gasket is available for many of the 8 speed applications FCA offers. See your parts specialist for the proper gasket for the repair.
- [2102816](/bulletins/10224865.md), 2022-10-31, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Flash: Transmission Shift And Drivability Enhancements This bulletin involves reprogramming the Transmission Control Module \(TCM\) with the latest available software. A small number of customers may experience a less than desirable down shift during one or more of the following: · 3\-2 coast down shift. · 2\-1 coast down shift. · 6\-5 coast down shift.
- [2103917](/bulletins/10224757.md), 2022-10-24, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN; AIR BAGS. Flash: Transmission Diagnostic and Shift Enhancements This bulletin involves reprogramming the Transmission Control Module \(TCM\) with the latest available software. Customers may experience a less than desirable down shift during one or more of the following:3\-2 coast\-down shift. 2\-1 coast\-down shift. 6\-5 coast\-down shift. The following software enhancement is available for\(6.4L Only\):Reduce bumps felt on light to medium decel braking while coming to a stop. Bump could be described as a push, driveline clunk, or engine flare noise right after the 5\-4 downshift. The vehicle speed may vary based on the rate of deceleration.
- [1807517](/bulletins/10224756.md), 2022-10-24, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION; SEAT BELTS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN; AIR BAGS; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Flash: Powertrain Diagnostic and System Improvements This bulletin involves reprogramming of the Powertrain Control Module \(PCM\) with the latest software. Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp \(MIL\) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that the following DTCs: P000B \- Bank 1 Camshaft 2 Position Slow Response. P0016 \- Crankshaft/Camshaft Timing Misalignment \- Bank 1 Sensor 1. P0335 \- Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit. P0339 \- Crankshaft Position Sensor Intermittent. P0441 \- EVAP Purge System Performance. P0455 \- EVAP System Large Leak. P2610 \- PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance. P0456 \- EVAP System Small Leak. P2299 \- Brake Pedal Position/Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible. Customers may also notice the following condition\(s\): Brief engine idle fluctuation while in hot ambient temperatures. A slight hesitation during light pedal application after engine cold start. Driveline noises. Engine stumble/hesitation on a very hard pedal acceleration from a dead stop. Transmission enhancements during low\-speed braking turning maneuvers. False detonation \(spark knock\) detected during a wide\-open throttle \(LA Challenger Sales Codes ESH with DEC only\). In addition, the following software enhancements are available: Reduce bumps felt on light to medium decal braking and coming to a stop. Launch spark improvement change from 35 MPH to 10 MPH. Reverse lock out speed change from 10 MPH to 3 MPH \(Sales Code DEC only\). Torque security calibration changes to desensitize brake throttle override entry conditions. Calibration changes to address engine speed undershoot/overshoot during clutch disengagement when coming to a stop \(Sales Code DEC only\). Start fuel and transient fuel calibration change for improved drivability robustness. Purge calibration changes for a more robust purge volume result at altitude. Individual Cylinder Fuel Control \(ICFC\) calibration changes for improved fueling offset accuracy.
