# Service bulletin SIB610222

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10214983
- Published by NHTSA: 2022\-07\-05
- Manufacturer's number: SIB610222
- Manufacturer's date: 2022\-05\-01
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

## NHTSA's summary

BMW AG is conducting a Voluntary Service Action on certain Model Year 2019\-2020 BMW Plug\-In HybridElectric \(PHEV\) vehicles that were produced between March 25, 2019, and October 17, 2020. Analyses of transmitted teleservice data indicate abnormalities in the "balancing" of the cells within one or more of the high\-voltage battery cell modules. This could possibly cause a loss of performance of the corresponding modules, such as faster ageing, shorter range, or possible operating failure.

- [B110426](/bulletins/11035500.md), 2026-08-03, Service bulletin: ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The manual starting of electronic engine oil level measurement from inside the vehicle, usually afterperforming an engine oil service task, is inoperative or it may lock up at between a 15% to 30% completionrate.
- [B840226](/bulletins/11035408.md), 2026-07-31, Service campaign: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Once the Telematics Module \(TCB2\) enters sleep mode, a BMW Data Services trigger for Remote Services\(remote engine start, lock/unlock/climate conditioning\) will not be able to reactivate the TCB2. Due to this issue, Remote Services will not function in the vehicle when parked and locked.
- [B720125](/bulletins/11028928.md), 2026-02-23, Warranty extension: AIR BAGS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEATS. A situation may occur where the front passenger seat is not occupied; however, a “fasten seat belt” warning and a front passenger seat air bag deactivation message appears. If the situation is currently present, sit in the seat and move the seat to a slightly different position. The POL \(Passenger Occupancy Light\) light should now function correctly. In some cases, the Air bag Warning Light was illuminated, and the following Advanced Crash Safety Module \(ACSM\) fault is stored: 930A1C \- Front passenger seat occupancy detection transmitting fault \(moisture\)
