# Service bulletin 22B18

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10214131
- Published by NHTSA: 2022\-06\-15
- Manufacturer's number: 22B18

## NHTSA's summary

Certain 2022 Model Year Transit Vehicles Reconfigure Instrument Panel Cluster Module \(IPC\) \- In some of the affected vehicles, the Instrument Panel Cluster \(IPC\) Optional Engine Idle Shutdown feature will not function as expected and can fail to shut the engine off after the requested minutes of run time \(5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes\). This may result in the engine not shutting down as expected after the run timer expires.

- [TSB 25\-2363](/bulletins/11021708.md), 2025-08-07, Service bulletin: ENGINE. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit all of the following conditions: \* Lack of air flow from inoperative blower motor \* Open or damaged fuse F10 in the BJB This may be due to a damaged fuse F10 \(40A\) in the battery junction box \(BJB\). \*\* Model secton: all gas engine \(non\-BEV\) \*\*\*\*\* Legacy verbiage \- will be removed after completing approvals \*\*\*\*\* Some 2020\-2024 Transit all gas engine \(non\-BEV\) vehicles may exhibit a lack of air flow due to an inoperative heating, ventilation, and air conditioning \(HVAC\) blower motor. This may be due to a damaged fuse F10 \(40A\) in the battery junction box \(BJB\). To correct the condition, replace the fuse F10 \(position 7 in the BJB\). Replace the BJB and BJB harness only if it is required with the listed service replacement part.
- [SSM 53764](/bulletins/11018521.md), 2025-05-21, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. Some 2020 Continental, 2020\-2024 Edge/Nautilus, 2020\-2025 Explorer/Aviator/Escape/Corsair/F\-150/F\-Super Duty/Ranger/Transit/E\-Series, 2021\-2025 Bronco, and 2022\-2025 Maverick vehicles may require an engine cooling system flush to be performed for various concerns. Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-03 has been updated to eliminate the need to remove and install the radiator assembly to perform a radiator flush.
- [SSM 52335](/bulletins/10251952.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. For 2015\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.
- [SSM 51370](/bulletins/10232440.md), 2023-03-04, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION:PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE SENSOR. Some 2022\-2023 Transit/E\-Transit vehicles may experience an inaccurate air discharge temperature when the EATC is operating in auto or manual mode and the temperature set to 60°F \(15.5°C\) or above. During this condition, the system commands full or mostly heat and the air discharge temperature will only reduce in the LO setting. This may be due to calibration in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning \(HVAC\) module. Engineering is aware of the concern and is currently working on a solution, expected in 2nd Quarter 2023. Inform the customer that Ford is currently investigating this concern and they can continue to drive the vehicle. Monitor OASIS for updates.
- [TSB 23\-2015](/bulletins/10230775.md), 2023-01-31, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. 2021\-2022 F\-150 vehicles with 2.7L, 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost or 5.0L engines, 2020\-2022 Transit vehicles with 3.5L Duratec/3.5L EcoBoost engines, 2023 Bronco with the 2.3L engine having charging system diagnostics performed in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) may experience the generator voltage desired \(GENVDSD\) parameter identification \(PID\) missing from the powertrain control module \(PCM\) PID list in the Ford Diagnosis And Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. This may be due to a software parameter in the PCM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.
- [SSM 51253](/bulletins/10228870.md), 2023-01-05, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:CRANK/CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some 2022 Transit vehicles that are not equipped with a telematics control unit \(TCU\) module and built on or before 28\-Mar\-2022 may exhibit a no crank/no start condition due to a discharged battery. If no parasitic draw is found during normal diagnostics, run the GWM \- Gateway Module A \(GWM\) Configuration application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool to correct the condition. For claiming, use causal part 14F642 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
