# Service bulletin SB2217003

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10210729
- Published by NHTSA: 2022\-05\-02
- Manufacturer's number: SB2217003
- Manufacturer's date: 2022\-03\-18

## NHTSA's summary

On certain Model S and Model X vehicles, the electrical wires for the Electronic Parking Brake \(EPB\) may be subject to abrasion caused by long term vibration cycling. Abrasion between the EPB wires and the backshell may strip the EPB wire insulation, resulting in water ingress or an electrical short.
