# Service bulletin SSM 50652

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10210230
- Published by NHTSA: 2022\-04\-13
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 50652
- Manufacturer's date: 2022\-04\-05
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:ANTI\-THEFT:CONTROL MODULE

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2021 F\-150 vehicles built on or before 24\-Feb\-2021 may experience the anti\-theft intrusion alarm system activating when there is no evidence of an intrusion. This may be due to the intrusion alarm system sensing vibrations that are characteristic to other vehicle systems. To correct the condition, update the body control module \(BCM\) to the latest software level using the appropriate scan tool. After BCM reprogramming completes follow the on\-screen prompts to relearn the TPMS sensors. For claiming, use causal part 15K609 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.

Some 2021\-2022 F\-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit engine misfire concerns with or without DTCs. If diagnostics lead to ignition coil replacement, swap the ignition coil\(s\) between the misfired cylinder and a known good cylinder. Only replace the ignition coil if the misfire concern follows that particular ignition coil. If the misfire condition does not follow the coil, apply dielectric grease to the boot, reinstall the ignition coil in the original cylinder and continue normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-07C.
