Service bulletin NTB22-012

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

AUDIO DISPLAY SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION When cleaning the interior of a Nissan vehicle, damage may occur when using a cleaner with too high of an alkaline concentration (Figure 1). HINT: If an audio display is returned through warranty and found to be damaged due to improper cleaning, it can be charged back to the dealer. Always refer to the Appearance and care section of the related vehicle owner’s manual and/or the Getting started section of the related NissanConnect® owner’s manual. • Not all cleaners are created equal. • Many cleaners come in concentrated form. Alkaline cleaners (cleaners with a high pH value) can cause spots on the audio display and trim when not used as directed. • Be sure to carefully follow any approved cleaner’s directions.
