Service bulletin T2488B

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

This Temporary Repair Practice is being issued to address certain PACCAR (Kenworth and Peterbilt) vehicles with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) header sensor failures in which DEF header replacement parts are not available. Due to DEF header part shortages, an ECM calibration is being released that reduces inducement levels to allow for continued operation of the vehicle until DEF header parts become available for a final repair. This is an update to a previously submitted communication.
