Service bulletin SSM 50365

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2022 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or after 20-Dec-2021 and equipped with remote tailgate release may exhibit a perceived inoperative tailgate latch release function. This may be due to a design change to the tailgate release strategy. When using the power tailgate release switch in the instrument panel, release switch on the tailgate, or the remote keyless entry (RKE) fob, the switch must be pressed twice within 3 seconds with the transmission in Park for the tailgate to release. If the remote tailgate release is still inoperative, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14 for normal diagnostics.
