Service bulletin B511314

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Remote control functionality is restored by pressing any of the key buttons or by removing and reinstalling the remote control key battery. The Display Key Digital Key and the Digital Key Card are not affected. Electrostatic discharge puts the remote control key into a deep sleep. Various situations can lead to an electrostatic charge which is often not recognized by the customer. The sole accumulates a negative charge and an electrostatic charge develops before touching the remote control key.
