# Service bulletin TSB 21\-2341

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [TSB 23\-2307](/bulletins/10244707.md), 2023-11-02, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM\(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM\); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:SOFTWARE. Some 2019\-2020 Edge/F\-150/Fusion/Continental/MKZ/Nautilus, 2019\-2021 Mustang/Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020\-2021 EcoSport/Escape/Expedition/Explorer/F\-Super Duty/Aviator/Corsair/Navigator, 2021 Bronco Sport and 2020\-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles with SYNC 3 may experience various SYNC performance related concerns. This may be due to the SYNC Software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the SYNC module \(APIM\) software.
- [SSM 50974](/bulletins/10216963.md), 2022-08-02, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some 2020\-2022 Escape/Corsair/F\-53 Motorhome/F\-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis, 2021\-2023 F\-650/F\-750/E\-Series, and 2021\-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles may exhibit a communication fault with emissions inspection equipment. This may be due to the software in the gateway module \(GWM\). To correct this condition, reprogram the GWM to latest software level using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Use causal part 14F642 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [TSB 22\-2147](/bulletins/10210497.md), 2022-04-26, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some 2020\-2021 Escape and 2021 Corsair vehicles equipped with a 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle \(FHEV\) or 2.5L plug\-in hybrid electric vehicle \(PHEV\) powertrain may exhibit a no crank/no start condition due to the passive anti\-theft system \(PATS\) immobilizer being enabled. This may be more prevalent after a vehicle service/repair. This may be due to software that renders the inverter system controller \(ISC\) \(also known as secondary on\-board diagnostic module C \(SOBDMC\)\) inoperable when a vehicle repair requires a PATS update. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram various modules starting with the powertrain control module \(PCM\).
- [TSB 22\-2078](/bulletins/10208826.md), 2022-03-08, Service bulletin: ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Some 20202022 Escape/Aviator plug\-in hybrid electric vehicle \(PHEV\) and 20212022 Corsair PHEV vehicles may exhibit a FordPass or LincolnWay App message notification indicating deep sleep mode and connectivity is temporarily unavailable while the vehicle is plugged in during high voltage battery charging. The vehicle may also exhibit an inoperative remote start feature and/or lock and unlock functionality. This may be due to the software in the telematics control unit \(TCU\). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TCU.
- [SSM 50375](/bulletins/10205694.md), 2021-12-27, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM\(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM\); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some 2016\-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may exhibit a condition where the navigation voice prompts are inoperative after a SYNC map update. This may be due to an incomplete installation of the SYNC map software. If possible, using the original USB that installed the update, reperform the update and verify the navigation voice prompts have returned. Multiple reboots are expected when this update is being performed. Verify the Installation Is Complete message displays in the touch screen. If the original USB is not available, go to website https://syncnavigation.com/ford/home or https://syncnavigation.com/lincoln/home to download the files once more for the affected vehicle. For further map update support, reference the FAQ section on these websites.
