# Service bulletin SSM 50217

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10202646
- Published by NHTSA: 2021\-10\-29
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 50217
- Manufacturer's date: 2021\-10\-21
- NHTSA component: ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL \(ESC\):CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2021 F\-150 vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U0143:87 stored in the trailer module \(TRM\). This may be due to various software parameters in the TRM. This DTC should be disregarded as it does not cause any observable concerns or warning messages and does not affect vehicle performance or durability. Ford is developing a software update which will be delivered to the vehicle via an over\-the\-air \(OTA\) TRM update beginning in March 2022 to prevent this DTC from setting.

- [TSB 26\-2206](/bulletins/11032563.md), 2026-05-08, Service bulletin: FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This article updates TSB 23\-2146. Reason for update: clarify prior approval requirements Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) C1001:31, U3000:89, and/or U3000:49 stored in the image processing module A \(IPMA\) and at least one of the following conditions: "Front Camera Fault Service Required" message Pre\-collision assist inoperative Adaptive cruise control inoperative Front windshield camera alignment routine fails to complete This may be due to the coaxial cable between the IPMA camera and the IPMA.
- [SSM 54720](/bulletins/11031263.md), 2026-04-10, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Various 2020\-2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system \(BLIS\) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module \(DDM\), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module \(PDM\). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Use part number SC3Z\-14A411\-B to resolve the concern.
- [SSM 54313](/bulletins/11024526.md), 2025-10-28, Service bulletin: LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
