Service bulletin SSM 50213
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles that have had a body control module (BCM) update may show the Frunk button on their FordPass app. This button is not currently supported and using it will result in a Failure To Open message. Ford is working on an update to the software to activate this button that is expected via over the air (OTA) in late December of 2021. The software will update automatically if Vehicle Connectivity is turned ON. Inform the customer that they can continue to drive the vehicle. Contact the customer in January of 2022 to determine if they received the update. If the customer needs assistance, schedule a follow-up appointment. Monitor OASIS for updates.

| TSB 22-2446 | 2022-12-02. Service bulletin. Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 07-Jul-2021 may experience Frunk System Fault Service Required message displayed in the IPC after performing body control module (BCM) update. This may be due to the software in the BCM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the APIM, BCM and front trunk release module (FTRM). NOTE: The APIM software update that addresses the symptom listed in this article may have been delivered over-the-air (OTA) via Ford Power-Up software updates to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. |
