Service bulletin L-TT-0302-21

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

TT: Some 2019-2022 model year RX350/L AWD equipped vehicles may have had the LX 75W-85 GL-5 gear oil used during assembly. ?The difference between the LT and LX type gear oil is only relevant to models equipped with Limited Slip type (Dynamic Torque Vectoring) AWD systems. ?For vehicles with standard Non-LSD AWD systems, the use of LX type gear oil proves no issue to substitute for the LT type gear oil typically found in Dynamic Torque Control AWD systems on RX350/L models. ?The Difference between LT and LX gear oil can be easily identified by the color of the fluid. oLX gear oil is red/pink in color. oLT gear oil is tan/brown in color.
