# Service bulletin NTB21\-074

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

IDLE STOP / START SYSTEM FAULT ERROR MESSAGE SERVICE INFORMATION A “Stop / Start System Fault” error message may be displayed on the instrument panel \(Figure 1\), if the seatbelt remains buckled or unbuckled over 10 consecutive drive cycles. • Drive cycle: Driven over 2 mph, and then parked for at least 10 minutes If the Stop / Start System Fault error message is displayed on the meter, in most cases buckling / unbuckling the seat belt with the ignition ON, or in accessory mode, should clear the message. • If buckling / unbuckling the driver’s seatbelt does not resolve the issue, refer to the Electronic Service Manual \(ESM\) to diagnose and repair the vehicle, and clear the Idle Stop System \(ISS\) meter message.
