# Service bulletin TSB 21\-2252

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2020\-2021 Escapes/Corsair vehicles may exhibit an illuminated stability\-traction control indicator lamp with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) C1B00:62 in the power steering control module \(PSCM\) and DTC C0051:67 in the anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) module. This may be due to a misalignment between the steering column shaft and the steering wheel. To resolve the condition, follow the Service Procedure to properly align the steering column shaft and steering wheel.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 54720](/bulletins/11031263.md), 2026-04-10, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Various 2020\-2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system \(BLIS\) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module \(DDM\), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module \(PDM\). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Use part number SC3Z\-14A411\-B to resolve the concern.
- [25N17](/bulletins/11030282.md), 2026-03-27, Other: LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS; BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Advance Notice – Customer Satisfaction Program 25N17 Certain 2015\-2025 Model Year Multiple Vehicle Lines Rear View Camera Replacement If Required After Dealer Evaluation
- [SSM 54313](/bulletins/11024526.md), 2025-10-28, Service bulletin: LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020\-2025 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system \(BLIS\) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module \(DDM\), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module \(PDM\). Use part number SC3Z\-14A411\-B to resolve the concern.
- [SSM 52329](/bulletins/10251948.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:HUD:SOFTWARE. Some 2020\-2022 Corsair vehicles equipped with a head\-up display \(HUD\) may exhibit a condition the display does not allow the projection height to be adjusted properly. Ford is aware of the concern and this condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a software solution for this condition that is expected by the end of April 2024. Replacement/reprogramming of the HUD will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule a service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
- [SSM 51996](/bulletins/10244853.md), 2023-11-03, Service bulletin: LANE DEPARTURE: LANE KEEP: AUTOMATIC STEERING. Some 2020\-2023 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit a condition where the vehicle drifts left and right within the vehicle's lane while the lane keeping assist is active. The lane keeping aid assists the driver by providing steering torque to help the driver keep the vehicle in the lane when it detects unintentional drifting toward the outside of the lane. Additionally, adaptive cruise control with lane centering provides constant steering torque to keep the vehicle centered in the lane while cruise control is engaged. These are operating characteristics of the lane keeping systems. Refer to the Owner's Manual for complete description of the operation of these systems. Do not attempt diagnosis or repairs or submit a claim for this condition. Inform the customer that the lane keeping system is only an aid, and their hands should stay on the steering wheel at all times while driving.
- [SSM 51812](/bulletins/10239630.md), 2023-07-25, Service bulletin: STEERING. Some 2020\-2022 Escape/Corsair, 2021\-2022 Bronco Sport, and 2022 Maverick vehicles built on or before 23\-Mar\-2022 may exhibit a hard, stiff, and/or difficult to turn condition due to a lack of power steering assist during engine start\-up with U3000 diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) stored in the PSCM. Using the latest version of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) tool, select and run the PSCM \- Reset the Power Steering Control Module \(PSCM\) application. After PSCM reset, perform an ignition cycle. Update the PSCM to the latest software level using FDRS tool. If the U3000 DTC returns, continue with diagnostics and repair direction using Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 211\-02 \> Power Steering \> Diagnosis and Testing. For claiming, use causal part 3C529 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [SSM 51778](/bulletins/10239099.md), 2023-07-20, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:TV/RADIO/SPEAKERS; BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2020\-2021 Escape built on/before 23\-Nov\-2021, 2021 F\-150 built on/before 08\-Oct\-2021, 2021 Mustang Mach\-E built on/before 29\-Mar\-2021, 2021 Expedition built on/before 05\-Aug\-2021, 2021 Explorer built on/before 27\-Sep\-2021 and 2020\-2022 Edge may exhibit a concern of the audio system does not power on, no sound from audio speakers, chimes default to coming through the instrument cluster, no communication with audio control module \(ACM\) or digital signal processor \(DSP\) module, and/or diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U0184, U0237 and/or U0238. To correct the condition, perform a hard reset of the DSP by disconnecting the 12\-volt battery. Reprogram the DSP module using the latest version of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 18B849 and any applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards Manual.

Some 2021\-2022 Escape vehicles built on or before 28\-Jun\-2022 may encounter false blind spot information system \(BLIS\) alerts. This may be due to the original packaging of the side obstacle detection radar mounting brackets. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the side obstacle detection radar mounting brackets and configure the modules.
