# Service bulletin SB54\-347

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Freightliner Service Bulletin for Rain Sensor not Detecting Material on the Windshield. The rain light sensor \(RLS\) requires proper mounting and clear windshield visibility for auto wipe to function properly. It is always recommended when checking for proper operation of the RLS, that the sensor be properly fastened to its mounting bracket and that the gel is free of fingerprints and foreign material. Also ensure that no air bubble larger than 1 mm is present in the gel.
