## NHTSA's summary

Service Solution for Cummins PTO functionality error software level 81Z\-006. Cascadia/Western Star 49X with Cummins engines combined with software level 81Z\-006. A programming bug in the central gateway \(CGW\) for software level 81Z\-006 will not allow completion of the preset \#2 PTO engine speed. During PTO speed request for anything greater than the \#1 set speed , if the Cummins ECU software determines that the increase in speed isn't ramping fast enough, it will refer to an engine torque control setting instead of the engine speed control setting.
