NHTSA's summary
Steering - Missing or unseated C-clip on intermediaate steering shaft assembly 03/16/2016 Updated Failure Type. Peterbilt has determined that certain medium duty vehicles built between June 22, 2015 and August 19, 2015 may have a missfing or unseated C-clips oin the u-joint cup on certain intermediate shaft u-joints on Data Intermediate Steering Shafts. Loss of a bearring cup assembly creates a noticeable increase in torsional lash in the steering system that has been shown to be detectable by a driver.
