# Service bulletin SA\-036\-21

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some vehicles may have one of the following DTCs stored in memory along with a system status notice on the Multi\-information display OR display a system status notice with no DTC: C1001:92 \- Forward sensing camera \(FSC\) poor field of view \[Gen 6 vehicles\], B14F0:92 \- General temporary failure in forward sensing camera \(FSC\) \[Gen 7 vehicles build on or before March 2, 2019\], No DTC \- Gen 7 vehicles built after March 2, 2019, DTC C1001:92 or B14F0:92 set as a past record for low visibility of the Forward Sensing Camera \(FSC\). It does not mean there is an actual FSC defect. In some cases the customer may have a concern with the Lane Departure Warning System \(LDWS\) and/or High Beam Control system \(HBC\). In other cases this DTC might be found without a related customer concern.

- [09\-005\-26](/bulletins/11028099.md), 2026-02-03, Service bulletin: LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If the right\-side Blind Spot Monitoring \(BSM\) control module is replaced for any reason, it is also necessary to replace the left\-side BSM control module in order to complete the radar aiming procedure. If the right\-side BSM control module is replaced alone, "Automatic Configuration" and "BSM Radar Aiming" cannot be completed due to a programming error in the module. In most cases, if the left\-side BSM control module is replaced alone, "Automatic Configuration" and "BSM Radar Aiming" can be completed without any problem \(See CAUTION below for more details\). Other possible symptoms that may be found if the right\-side BSM module is replaced alone: BSM aiming fails “BSM OFF" indicator ON Center Display warning message BSM failsafe \(No operation\) DTC U3000:54 stored in memory DTC U1A4B:54 stored in memory \(CX\-3, MX\-5 only\) NOTE: Since a new BSM control module does not retain the vehicle specification information, it is necessary to acquire and store the vehicle specification information transmitted via CAN communication from the combination meter through automatic configuration after replacement.

Some customers may notice an abnormal noise \(i.e. whine, groan, rattle or squeak\) coming from the front combination lights when turning them on, or a few minutes after turning them off. The noise may be due to contamination by foreign matter during the manufacturing process and the fan motor bearing may become worn out during use. To eliminate this concern, the fan motor has been modified. NOTE: It is normal for some noise to occur within the first few seconds after starting the engine, when the front combination lights perform a self check \(sweep\).
