# Service bulletin MT\-002\-21

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10194659
- Published by NHTSA: 2021\-06\-01
- Manufacturer's number: MT\-002\-21
- Manufacturer's date: 2021\-05\-07
- NHTSA component: EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

## NHTSA's summary

When programming a key or installing a Genuine Mazda Accessory Remote Engine Start system, you may encounter programming difficulty. This may be caused by a customer installed aftermarket decorative trim and/or cover on the START/STOP ENGINE button. The aftermarket accessory may create electrical interference, which may interfere with programming.

SA\-006/23 01/23/23 DESCRIPTION Some customers may complain about the infotainment system and/or the MyMazda App showing incorrect clock and/or tire pressures and/or tire pressure missing. - [01\-010\-26](/bulletins/11036688.md), 2026-09-02, Service bulletin: ENGINE. This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin\(s\) listed below. The changes are noted in Red text. 01\-012/22 10/06/22 DESCRIPTION Some vehicles may exhibit accumulation of dried coolant \(1\) around the water pipe \(2\). This is caused by a gap between the housing and pipe due to a press fitting during the manufacturing process. The accumulated coolant is solidified and plugs the gap in high temperature environment and the seepage is stopped and does not progress. This is normal and does not require a part replacement, clean off the dried coolant from around the pipe with a wire brush. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Verify the customer concern. 2. If the above condition is experienced, remove the accumulated coolant around the pipe \(1\) with a wire brush etc. NOTE: Perform the procedure on the vehicle. No need to remove the water pipe and hoses.
- [09\-022\-26](/bulletins/11035599.md), 2026-08-04, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY/WIPER. This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin\(s\) listed below. The changes are noted in Red text. 09\-042/04 12/10/04 DESCRIPTION Some vehicles may exhibit inoperative electric rear window defroster grid lines, integral antenna concerns causing radio reception issues or terminal tabs pulled from the rear window glass. Follow the diagnostic and repair procedures included in this service information to inspect and service rear defroster grid lines, integral antenna concerns or broken terminal tabs.
- [06\-001\-26](/bulletins/11035595.md), 2026-08-04, Service bulletin: STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. DESCRIPTION Some customers may complain that the electric power steering warning light illuminates after engine start and DTC U2011:1C is stored. Zinc\-plated whisker may form inside the EPS motor and trigger the DTC. However, since it is cleared when power is supplied during DTC detection, normal operation can be restored by turning the ignition OFF and then ON. Furthermore, there is no possibility of recurrence. This case may be resolved through a simple inspection or repair without the need for parts replacement, potentially avoiding unnecessary customer waiting time.
