# Service bulletin 01IND2021\-04\-28

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Indian Motorcycle has learned of a production quality error on select 2022 Chief models regarding the front fork caps. A small batch of fork legs were not machined to Indian specifications and the fork legs have a slightly larger diameters at the top of the fork leg. This may cause the cosmetic cap for the fork leg to crack. The crack does not affect performance and is purely cosmetic.
