## NHTSA's summary

HLT LIMITED DETERMINED THAT SOME HUBS MAY NOT HAVE THE KEEPER WASHER INSTALLED. KEEPER WASHER MAINTAINS PROPER TIGHTENING OF THE BEARING NUT. WITHOUT KEEPER WASHER THE NUT COULD BECOME LOOSER THAN NORMAL, CAUSING BEARING FAILURE. THERE IS COTTER A PIN INSTALLED THAT WILL KEEP THE NUT FROM COMING ALL THE WAY OFF.
