Service bulletin MC2300315024

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

MC32001142018-11-05. Service bulletin. In the framework of quality monitoring, BMW Motorrad has ascertained that in some cases the clutch switch can trip before the clutch has fully disengaged. This is due to an incorrect cam-lobe contour on the clutch lever. For this reason, as of May 2014 the switch had been modified in such a way as to correct the switching point. Subsequently installing a clutch lever with the correct cam-lobe contour on one of these vehicles would change the switching point outside the tolerance window.
