Service bulletin SMT-TN-151

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

All motorcycles sold on or after the 01/07/2013 will now include a 12 month battery warranty. This now aligns with the 12 month warranty offered on correctly commissioned batteries sold as replacement parts. We would like to remind dealers that it is essential that all new batteries are correctly commissioned using the BatteryMate 150-9. A Battery Maintenance video describing the Triumph approved battery commissioning procedure is available to view online at www.triumphonline.net. Alternatively, the battery commissioning procedure can be found in the electrical section of any Triumph Service Manual.
