# Service bulletin ITB16013

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10192781
- Published by NHTSA: 2021\-05\-10
- Manufacturer's number: ITB16013
- Manufacturer's date: 2016\-03\-22

## NHTSA's summary

IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is ON with P0116 Engine Coolant Temperature \(ECT SENSOR\) stored, and There are no drivability issues. ACTION 1. Refer to step 6 in the SERVICE PROCEDURE to confirm if ECM reprogramming applies. 2. If it applies, reprogram the ECM. See this bulletin for further detail.

- [ITB15024](/bulletins/10192589.md), 2021-05-10, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL. SERVICE INFORMATION After ECM reprogramming, the Calibration Verification Number \(CVN\) needs to be automatically calculated prior to State emissions testing \(also known as Inspection Maintainence, I/M, or SMOG testing depending upon location\). Allowing the vehicle to idle for 22 minutes will allow for faster CVN calculation. It is recommended that customers utilize this method if the vehicle needs to be tested for emissions soon after ECM reprogramming. See this bulletin for further detail.
- [ITB14056](/bulletins/10192479.md), 2021-05-10, Service bulletin: ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SERVICE INFORMATION Starting with 2010 Model Year, Infiniti vehicles have been gradually incorporating a new type of DTC known as Permanent DTC or P\-DTC. If a vehicle is equipped with P\-DTCs, all emission related DTCs will also set a P\-DTC if the MIL is turned ON. A listing of which DTCs that will also set a P\-DTC is found in the DTC Index in the EC\-Engine Control section of the Electronic Service Manual \(ESM\). If a DTC repair is performed and the DTC erased, a vehicle may fail an Emission Inspection and Maintenance test if the P\-DTC is not also erased. See this bulletin for further detail.
- [ITB14053](/bulletins/10192472.md), 2021-05-10, Service bulletin: ENGINE; STRUCTURE. SERVICE INFORMATION A two\-piece design front engine mount is currently being used for the applied vehicles listed. A single thunk noise may be heard on the first acceleration of the day from this type of mount and is considered normal operation. The mount has also been designed with built in free\-play that is normal. Under normal driving conditions: \* A "thunk" noise may be heard on the first acceleration of the day. And \* Does not occur again, or at any other time. DO NOT REPLACE THE MOUNT: \* If it has free play or a "single event" thunk sound on the first acceleration of the day. This is considered a normal characteristic of this type of engine mount. \* If a shift shock condition is present when shifting from park into gear or between any combination of gears. This condition is due to transmissions line pressures and not movement of the mount. NOTE: Refer to the Electronic Service Manual section TM \- Transaxle \& Transmission for further diagnostic information on shift shock. See this bulletin for further details.
- [PC328](/bulletins/10192465.md), 2021-05-10, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE \(ECU/ECM\); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Infiniti is conducting an inventory inspection on 5,809 specific 2014\-15 Infiniti QX60 vehicles and requesting retailers perform a software check on the OCS ECU on specific vehicles identified in SERVICE COMM.
- [ITB14031A](/bulletins/10192418.md), 2021-05-10, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. This bulletin has been cancelled. Please discard all previous copies of this bulletin and refer to the Electronic Service Manual for the procedure to replace the supercharger.
- [ITB14002](/bulletins/10192294.md), 2021-05-10, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE \(ECU/ECM\); ENGINE. SERVICE INFORMATION Replacement Engine Control Modules \(ECMs\) for many newer Infiniti vehicles are now "Blank" ECMs. Blank ECMs come without software and must be programmed \(not reprogrammed\) before they will function. See this bulletin for further detail.
- [ITB13052](/bulletins/10192283.md), 2021-05-10, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SERVICE INFORMATION Intelligent Key \(I\-Key\) systems on the Applied Vehicles use two \(2\) different Radio Frequencies \(RF\) that are similar to other wireless devices; 315 MHz and 433 MHz. In the event another wireless device \(e.g. aftermarket alarm system\) is transmitting at the same time as an I\-Key, it can interfere with the I\-Key signals being received by the BCM. If there is interference with I\-Key signals, the following symptoms may occur: \- The I\-Key is not detected, causing: \- The engine to not start \(no response when the Stop/Start button is pressed\) \- "I\-Key System Error" displayed in the instrument cluster \- "No I\-Key Detected" displayed in the instrument cluster \- Intermittent operation of the buttons on the remote \(Key FOB\). \- Intermittent operation of the door request switches. If a vehicle has experienced the above symptoms, or a customer has reported the above symptoms, refer to Supplemental Diagnosis / Information in this bulletin. See this bulletin for further detail.
