## NHTSA's summary

Detroit Technical Service Letter for Fuel System Pretreatment Procedure Clarification. The Fuel System Pretreatment procedure is now available for GHG17, Euro V, GHG14, EPA10, and EPA07 DD Heavy Duty engine platforms. This procedure is required prior to certain engine repairs to prevent damage to the fuel injectors as a result of leaving the fuel system open for an extended period of time.
