# Service bulletin SSM 49690

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10189581
- Published by NHTSA: 2021\-03\-31
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 49690
- Manufacturer's date: 2021\-03\-25
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

## NHTSA's summary

For 2018\-2021 EcoSport/Expedition/Navigator, 2019\-2021 Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020\-2021 Escape/Explorer/SuperDuty/Transit/Aviator/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport/F\-150/Mustang/Mach\-E the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) diagnostics may direct to replace a module on vehicles that use Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). First, an FDRS session must be created on the vehicle prior to removing the faulted module. Once the session is started, run the Programmable Module Installation and replace the module only when instructed by FDRS. Installing a new module prior to starting a scan tool session may result in incomplete module configuration with DTCs U2100, U2101 and/or U2200. Once a session has been started, continue to follow normal WSM procedures to repair the vehicle.

- [SSM 55194](/bulletins/11037561.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021\-2024 Mustang Mach\-E, 2025\-2026 Navigator and 2024 F\-150 vehicles may exhibit inoperative welcome/approach detection lights. This may be due to the body control module \(BCM\) software. To correct the condition, download and run the "BCM \- Programmable Module Installation \(PMI\)" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. If the condition persists after PMI, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 417\-01 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and labor operations 12651D and BCM.

- [TSB 26\-2391](/bulletins/11037297.md), 2026-09-12, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. This bulletin updates 26\-2206. Reason for update: update the Service Procedure to revise Steps 19\-21, adding Step 22, and adding Figure 15\-16 to clarify connector C316 location. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) C1001:31, U3000:89, and/or U3000:49 stored in the image processing module A \(IPMA\) and at least one of the following conditions: "Front Camera Fault Service Required" message Pre\-collision assist inoperative Adaptive cruise control inoperative Front windshield camera alignment routine fails to complete This may be due to the coaxial cable between the IPMA camera and the IPMA.
- [SSM 55149](/bulletins/11037295.md), 2026-09-12, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021\-2024 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L may exhibit a lack of air conditioning \(A/C\) cooling while at a stop and idling in ambient temperatures of 100°F \(38°C\) or higher. In addition, there are no diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) present related to A/C system functionality, refrigerant charge levels are to specification and system is free of refrigerant leaks and/or A/C compressor related concerns. Customers may also report that A/C system cooling will be restored once the vehicle starts moving or placed in park/neutral.\<br /\>\<br /\> This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in Q4 2026. Replacement or reprogramming of any components will not resolve this condition. Monitor Professional Technician System \(PTS\) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the vehicle exhibit
