# Service bulletin 9004352

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

RELAY, Micro \*\*This applies to the 2020 KL and 2021 KL Only\!\!\*\* Owner reports in colder temperatures the vehicle may exhibit a No Start or and/or a Start and Stall fail to Start condition. Vehicle will start normally when PDC or vehicle is warmed up. This symptom may also be accompanied by DTC P1279 \-STARTER CONTROL CIRCUIT 2 OPEN. Refer to SOL Publication S2108000002 REV B to ensure it is applicable to the vehicle prior to moving forward. For SOL S2108000002 REV B, the Denso 68406797AA may not be available / may be on Backorder. In the event 68406797AA is on backorder, another validated Denso relay to use is 68244159AA. Quantities for this relay are limited, we kindly request to only order on an as needed basis until mid March 2021 so customer vehicles currently exhibiting this issue can be repaired. CAUTION: Denso relay part number 68244159AA can only be used in the Run/Start relay location. Premature relay failure will occur if used in other locations. Other locations require relays which can handle higher duty cycle requirements. Note: Only the Run/Start relay will require replacement for the issue identified in S2108000002 REV B. No other Song Chuan relays should be replaced for this condition.

Rear Taillamp Condensation Clearing Procedure On occasion, vehicle exterior taillamp assemblies get fogged with a light layer of condensation on the SYMPTOM: inside of the lenses Fig. 1. This may be reported after the lamps have been turned on and brought up to operating temperature, turned off and then rapidly cooled by cold water \(such as rain, or the water from a vehicle wash\). Lens fogging can also occur under certain atmospheric conditions after a vehicle has been parked outside overnight \(i.e. a warm humid day followed by clear cool night\). This will usually clear as atmospheric conditions change to allow the condensation to change back into a vapor. Turning the taillamps on will usually accelerate this process. This bulletin is to communicate the procedure for rear taillamp condensation clearing.
