Service bulletin CAN 21-001
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
The wiring harness for the telematics control unit may hang up between the brake light switch and the brake pedal. If this happens, the brake lights could remain on. Additionally, an occupant could start the vehicle and shift into gear without the need to press the brake pedal. It is also possible, when a driver exits the vehicle through the cargo compartment, the transmission may not shift to Park automatically. This could result in unintended vehicle movement. A vehicle that moves unexpectedly could create the risk of a crash. Brake lights that do not work properly could result in road users being confused of the driver’s intentions and increase the risk of a crash.

The document is the manufacturer's. This site does not hold it. NHTSA files a document at one of these two addresses; we have not asked NHTSA which.
