NHTSA's summary
DEF INJEC TOR ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT. The following service alert is to advise about the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Injector if it's being replaced under warranty. The recent changes made to the DEF injector include enhancements to the aluminum housing. When the DEF injector is being replaced, the complete assembly including the housing, must be replaced as a unit to be covered under warranty as directed in TT-16-009. From this date forward, this component will bot be covered under warranty unless it's replaced as an assembly.
