# Service bulletin TSB 20\-2382

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10183416
- Published by NHTSA: 2020\-12\-05
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 20\-2382
- Manufacturer's date: 2020\-11\-06

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2014\-2020 Transit Connect vehicles built on/or after 01\-Feb\-2013 may exhibit water dripping into the passenger front footwell. This may be due to an excessive gap in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning \(HVAC\) case allowing water to drip from the case when the air conditioning \(A/C\) is operating. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reseal the HVAC case.

- [SSM 54601](/bulletins/11029052.md), 2026-02-27, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module \(BCM\). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is not available, the "Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide" can be referenced and provides direction on how to retrieve the master code. This guide is located under the Workshop Manual tab \> Accessories \> Installation \> Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide \> PPT C \> Step C2.\<br /\>\<br /\> Note: The only available keypad for some vehicles from the assembly plant is the accessory wireless keyless entry keypad. The integrated wired keypad cannot be installed on vehicles not equipped from the factory with a wired keyless entry k
- [SSM 51536](/bulletins/10235153.md), 2023-05-04, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE. For 2000\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number \(VIN\) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual \(WSM\) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

- [TSB 21\-2379](/bulletins/10202862.md), 2021-11-02, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. - [SSM 48135](/bulletins/10164596.md), 2019-09-09, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2013\-2020 vehicles equipped with an EVDC air conditioning \(A/C\) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function. To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership \(339\-EVDC100\). Ensure the A/C system has a full charge prior to any compressor diagnostics. To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC compressor tool must be used, and the results recorded in the Technician comments field with the warranty claim. This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Refer to the Rotunda catalog for a video and user manual which provide detailed operating instructions.
- [SSM 48130](/bulletins/10164508.md), 2019-09-06, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR; VISIBILITY. Some 2010\-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.
- [SSM 48128](/bulletins/10164501.md), 2019-09-06, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2019 Transit Connect vehicles may exhibit an inoperative AC outlet. This may be due to an inoperative DC/AC inverter. Do not attempt any repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.
- [SSM 47967](/bulletins/10160880.md), 2019-06-06, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2013\-2019 vehicles equipped with a EVDC air conditioning \(A/C\) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function and/or a diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P06A0 in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been developed and is available from Rotunda \(339\-EVDC100\). A tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership free of charge with shipments completed 19\-Apr\-2019 \(reference EFC07013 on FMCDealer.com\). This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Make sure that this tester is used for warranty repairs and document the test results in the Technician Comments field. Refer to the Rotunda catalog for a video and user manual which provide detailed operating instructions.
