# Service bulletin SA\-039\-20a

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

The 2020 CX9 Grand Touring and Signature trims come standard with a liftgate handsfree foot\-motion detection unit located on the inner surface of the rear bumper. This location is also where the accessory trailer hitch \(P/N 0000\-8E\-N31/0000\-8EN31A\) is designed to be installed. Due to this location conflict, the foot\-motion detection unit must be removed and deactivated in the MAZDA CONNECT system.
