Service bulletin SSM 49193

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2020 Escape vehicles with S level trim equipped with keyed ignition built on 22-Jul-2020 and through 5-Aug-2020, may exhibit an illuminated TPMS lamp in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). TPMS sensor replacement will not resolve this condition due to internal components of the body control module (BCM). If tire pressure is set to placard and diagnosis leads to TPMS sensor replacement, replace the BCM. Because of part constraints, dealers may experience situational short-term backorders. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-10. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
