- [SSM 52076](/bulletins/10245389.md), 2023-11-21, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE \(4\-WHEEL DRIVE\). Some 2019\-2021 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with all wheel drive \(AWD\) may exhibit a noise from the rear of the vehicle while approaching the vehicle or prior to starting engine. This may be due to the rear drive unit \(RDU\) actuator learning process. Reprogram the software in the AWD module to minimize the noise using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. If no other concerns or symptoms are present, further diagnosis or repairs are not recommended. For claiming, use causal part 4000 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [TSB 23\-2307](/bulletins/10244707.md), 2023-11-02, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM\(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM\); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:SOFTWARE. Some 2019\-2020 Edge/F\-150/Fusion/Continental/MKZ/Nautilus, 2019\-2021 Mustang/Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020\-2021 EcoSport/Escape/Expedition/Explorer/F\-Super Duty/Aviator/Corsair/Navigator, 2021 Bronco Sport and 2020\-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles with SYNC 3 may experience various SYNC performance related concerns. This may be due to the SYNC Software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the SYNC module \(APIM\) software.
- [SSM 51778](/bulletins/10239099.md), 2023-07-20, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:TV/RADIO/SPEAKERS; BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2020\-2021 Escape built on/before 23\-Nov\-2021, 2021 F\-150 built on/before 08\-Oct\-2021, 2021 Mustang Mach\-E built on/before 29\-Mar\-2021, 2021 Expedition built on/before 05\-Aug\-2021, 2021 Explorer built on/before 27\-Sep\-2021 and 2020\-2022 Edge may exhibit a concern of the audio system does not power on, no sound from audio speakers, chimes default to coming through the instrument cluster, no communication with audio control module \(ACM\) or digital signal processor \(DSP\) module, and/or diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U0184, U0237 and/or U0238. To correct the condition, perform a hard reset of the DSP by disconnecting the 12\-volt battery. Reprogram the DSP module using the latest version of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 18B849 and any applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards Manual.
- [TSB 23\-2082](/bulletins/10233593.md), 2023-04-04, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2020\-2022 F\-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) P0315, P054F, P054E, P2A00, P2A01, and/or P02ED stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to the software in the PCM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM and the transmission control module \(TCM\).
- [SSM 51391](/bulletins/10232484.md), 2023-03-04, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION. Some 2020\-2021 Explorer vehicles with 2.3L engine may exhibit a lack of heat from the passenger side vents of the vehicle when using the climate control. When diagnosing for insufficient, erratic or no heat from passenger side vents, perform Workshop Manual \(WSM\) pinpoint \(PPT\) tests K, and referred pinpoint tests G/H, and/or AE as applies. If WSM PPT tests are inconclusive, replace heater core per WSM Section 412\-00.
- [SSM 51338](/bulletins/10232400.md), 2023-03-04, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION:DISPLAY FUNCTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020\-2023 Aviator vehicles may exhibit a concern where the center display screen will not shift to night mode or has lines on the center display screen with multi color or rainbow hue. This may be due to accessory protocol interface module \(APIM\) software. To correct the condition, run the APIM\-SYNC Module \(APIM\) Standard Programming application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). For claiming, use causal part 14G371 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [SSM 51263](/bulletins/10228880.md), 2023-01-06, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some 2015\-2023 F\-150, 2017\-2022 F\-Super Duty, and 2019\-2023 Ranger vehicles may exhibit dust ingress into the cabin through the doors or air extractors. This may be due to the climate control system being in recirculation mode as a result of the recirculation button being on or automatic strategies for heating/cooling efficiency. To minimize dust ingress when driving in off\-road or secondary road conditions, make sure that all doors and windows are fully closed and the climate control system is switched to defrost on and the instrument panel and footwell air vents are switched to off. Temperature and fan settings may be adjusted as desired. Alternatively, max defrost can be activated which will adjust all settings automatically. Operating in defrost mode will keep constant air flow through the rear air extractors and other small areas, helping minimize dust ingress.
- [SSM 51254](/bulletins/10228871.md), 2023-01-05, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:CRANK/CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. This may be due to the software in the gateway module \(GWM\). To correct the condition, reprogram the GWM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming use causal part 14F642 and the applicable labor operations of Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [SSM 51248](/bulletins/10228866.md), 2023-01-05, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. This may be due to the rear gate trunk module \(RGTM\) software. To correct the condition, reprogram the RGTM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
