NHTSA's summary

Some 2020 Corsair/Aviator vehicles may exhibit inoperative heated/cooled seat and/or steering wheel functionality when starting the vehicle using remote start. The heated/cooled seats and/or heated steering wheel may not turn on when previously set to on/auto. This may be due to software in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control module. To correct this condition, reprogram the HVAC control module to the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 18C612 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component
SSM 552262026-10-12. Service bulletin. For 2020-2026 Aviator/Corsair and 2018-2026 Navigator vehicles, if diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 501-10A > Front Seats > Diagnosis and Testing lead to the replacement of the front seat cushion extension adjuster, a lower-level part is now available (14C720). It is not necessary to replace the front seat cushion extension adjuster if only the front seat cushion extension motor assembly is damaged. For Corsair, use service part LJ7Z-14C720-A. For Aviator, use service part R2TZ-14C720-A. For 2025-2026 Navigator (both sides) and 2018-2024 Navigator driver side, use service part NL7Z-14C720-A. For 2018-2024 Navigator passenger side, use service part NL7Z-14C720-B.
SSM 518122023-07-25. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2022 Escape/Corsair, 2021-2022 Bronco Sport, and 2022 Maverick vehicles built on or before 23-Mar-2022 may exhibit a hard, stiff, and/or difficult to turn condition due to a lack of power steering assist during engine start-up with U3000 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the PSCM. Using the latest version of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) tool, select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. After PSCM reset, perform an ignition cycle. Update the PSCM to the latest software level using FDRS tool. If the U3000 DTC returns, continue with diagnostics and repair direction using Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-02 > Power Steering > Diagnosis and Testing. For claiming, use causal part 3C529 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 517202023-06-22. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2023 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may have a concern where the second row outboard manual/power seats do not fold, exhibit excess effort to fold, or do not slide forward/backward easily. Power or manual second row seats must be pushed forward manually during easy entry function since the assist spring will reduce but not eliminate manual effort. Refer to the Owner's Manual > Seats > Rear Seats > Adjusting the Second Row Rear Seats for further details. If the seats do not easily push forward manually, it maybe due to tension in the seat track due to uneven assembly torque. To correct these conditions, unbolt the second row seat frame from the floor to relax tension. Start the bolts by hand, then tighten in the correct sequence and torque per Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 501-10B.
SSM 516122023-05-16. Service bulletin. There is a parts and labor time error for Explorer/Aviator 3.0L EcoBoost and Aviator 3.0L plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Ford is in the process of updating TSB 23-2114. Explorer or Aviator with 3.0L EcoBoost or 3.0L PHEV engine require new sub frame bolts and a steering shaft pinch bolt. Aviator will also require suspension nuts and bolts missing from the TSB that are related to halfshaft removal and installation. To complete the repair, follow Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 205-03 > Front Axle Disconnect Actuator (use the 2020 WSM for 2021 Aviator as the procedure for 2021 is currently being updated). Complete the wiring modification per TSB 23-2114. For Explorer 3.0L EcoBoost vehicles, claim operation 232114E 7.2 hours. For Aviator 3.0L EcoBoost and 3.0L PHEV vehicles, claim operation 232114F 7.8 hours. Refer to this article on the repair order.
SSM 514062023-04-04. Service bulletin. Some 2020 2022 Corsair vehicles may exhibit a condition where the front driver seat does not move to the correct memory position. This condition occurs when the user adjusts the front driver seat horizontally and programs the desired position. This may be due to an improper software change in the driver front seat module (DSM). To correct this condition, using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool program the DSM to the latest software level and reevaluate the concern. If the concern persists or no update is available, replace the DSM module and update the software. 2020 Corsair vehicles with older DSM assemblies may not show this software update. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10A Front Seats. For claiming, use causal part number 14C708 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards.
SSM 512552023-01-05. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2022 Escape/Corsair, 2021-2022 Bronco Sport, and 2022 Maverick vehicles may exhibit a hard, stiff, and/or difficult to turn condition due to a lack of power steering assist during engine start-up with various U3000 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and/or U3000:66. To correct this condition, using the latest version of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) tool, select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. After PSCM reset, perform an ignition cycle. Update the PSCM to the latest software level using (FDRS) tool. If DTCs U3000 returns, continue with diagnostics and repair direction using Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-02 > Power Steering > Diagnosis and Testing. For claiming, use causal part 3C529 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 508682022-06-29. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit a second row folding seat that is inoperative or requires excessive effort to fold. This may be due to tension built up within the seat and seat track that leads to more force required to manually fold the seat. To correct the condition, the second row seat frame will need to be unbolted from the floor and tightened in the correct sequence. Additionally, the sliding tracks of the seat should be inspected for proper alignment when tightening the bolts. It is important to note that the bolts should be started by hand before tightening to the correct torque. This sequence is outlined in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10. The WSM has been updated to reflect the updated bolt installation procedure.
SSM 508172022-06-01. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2021 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit inoperative third row power seat folding. This may be due to the software in the power fold seat module (SCMJ). To correct the condition, connect a battery charger and reprogram the SCMJ using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. After reprogramming the SCMJ, perform a manual re-learn procedure. With the engine running, tailgate open, and no objects in the third row seats, press and hold the both seat fold button for one minute until both seats completely fold and unfold. Refer to Owner's Manual for information. Verify that each seat operates correctly after the relearn procedure by pressing the left and then the right third row seat fold buttons. For claiming, use causal part 14F042 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
TSB 22-21442022-04-26. Service bulletin. Some 2020 Explorer/Aviator vehicles equipped with a power adjustable steering column may exhibit a creak/squeal type noise during up or down travel, including ingress/egress and/or driver memory function. This symptom may be more prevalent with warmer interior temperatures and/or during summer months. This may be due to a lack of lubrication in the steering column. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the steering column.
TSB 22-21002022-03-22. Service bulletin. This article supersedes TSB 21-2185 to update the vehicle model years affected. Some 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator/Corsair vehicles may experience seat pan looseness, lateral movement and/or clunk/thump noise on turns. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reinforce the cushion hook.
