## NHTSA's summary

Western Star Service Bulletin for Meritor Steer Axle Drum Brake Squeal. Some Western Star 5700 vehicles equipped with Meritor steer axle drum brakes with a front axle rating less than 13,300 lb \(6038 kg\) have experienced brake squealing noise when the service brakes are applied at lower speeds. NOTE: This is a nuisance noise issue and not a failure. The solution given in this service bulletin may fix this issue.
