The new engine software helps prevent the Battery\-Backed RAM \(BBram\) battery from running out of life and potentially causing an issue with the engine. The new software implements one key cycle programming of the Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory \(EEPROM\) to the BBram per the 2007 On\-Highway Truck program.
