# Service bulletin TSB 20\-2194

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10176841
- Published by NHTSA: 2020\-07\-06
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 20\-2194
- Manufacturer's date: 2020\-06\-08
- NHTSA component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2019 Edge/Nautilus vehicles may exhibit a slow fuel fill and/or spit back during refueling. This may be due to the software in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.

## Recalls for the same vehicles and component

- [20V550000](/recalls/nhtsa/20V550000.md), 2020-09-10: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [TSB 21\-2389](/bulletins/10203649.md), 2021-12-02, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Some 2019\-2021 Edge/Nautilus vehicles built on or before 11\-Mar\-2021 and equipped with a 8F35 transmission may exhibit a shudder/buck/jerk while driving up to 35 mph \(57 km/h\). This may be due to the software in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reprogram the PCM and the transmission solenoid strategy.
- [TSB 21\-2340](/bulletins/10202703.md), 2021-11-02, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE \(PCV\); EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2019 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine built on or before 22\-Aug\-2019 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to various strategies within the PCM software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the crankcase ventilation tube assembly and reprogram the PCM.
- [SSM 49821](/bulletins/10194428.md), 2021-06-01, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2015\-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis \(PC/ED\) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [SSM 49292](/bulletins/10181931.md), 2020-11-04, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Some 2018\-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit inoperative remote features via the Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization, no modem electronic serial number \(ESN\) displayed or DTCs U2100 and/or B156D in the telematics control unit \(TCU\). These symptoms may persist even after performing a TCU software update and/or replacement. To correct this condition, start a new session with the latest version of the appropriate diagnostic scan tool and perform a PMI on the TCU. If issues persist, open a hotline assistance request and include the IDS version \(if applicable\) used to perform the PMI and the Authorization Status PID value in the TCU datalogger. For claiming use causal part 14H092 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [TSB 20\-2151](/bulletins/10175886.md), 2020-06-04, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2019\-2020 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with 2.0L EcoBoost engines built on or before 24\-Jan\-2020 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P2282 stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This concern may be due to an intermittently stuck open brake vacuum tube assembly causing an uncommanded high air flow intake manifold leak. To resolve the condition, replace the brake vacuum tube assembly.
- [TSB 19\-2046](/bulletins/10156867.md), 2019-04-08, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Some 2019 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine, built on or before 23\-Jan\-2019 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) P0128, P0217, P02EE, P02EF, P02F0, P02F1, P044C, P1285, P1299, and/or P2196 stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to various settings in the PCM software. To resolve the condition, update the PCM software.
- [SSM 47817](/bulletins/10155572.md), 2019-04-01, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some 2019 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with 2.0L EcoBoost engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P2282 stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This concern may be due to an intermittent stuck open brake vacuum on demand valve causing an uncommanded high air flow intake manifold leak. Inspect the vacuum on demand valve \(K2GC\-2420\-AD/K2GZ\-2420\-A\). The Powertrain Controls and Emissions Diagnosis \(PC/ED\) Manual Pinpoint Test HG and Workshop Manual are being updated to include a diagnostic routine for the vacuum on demand valve and a procedure to remove and install the vacuum on demand valve. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.
