# Service bulletin NCU \- HVAC Warra A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned. - Type: Service bulletin - NHTSA id: 10176670 - Published by NHTSA: 2020\-06\-22 - Manufacturer's number: NCU \- HVAC Warra - Manufacturer's date: 2020\-05\-21 - NHTSA component: EQUIPMENT ## NHTSA's summary To enhance the satisfaction of our customers, avoid further costs of litigation and return focus to its core businesses, Mercedes\-Benz USA, LLC \(MBUSA\) has entered into a settlement regarding claims relating to alleged mold and mildew type odors originating from the HVAC system in certain Mercedes\-Benz vehicles. As part of the settlement, MBUSA has agreed to offer sliding\-scale warranty coverage for certain vehicles diagnosed as having mold or mildew type odors originating from the HVAC system?although that coverage will not take effect until the settlement is judicially approved and other events occur; likely not until December 7, 2020 at the earliest \(see below\). If the settlement becomes effective, coverage will include cleaning of the evaporator and replacement of the HVAC filters ## The document - [NHTSA's copy of the document (PDF)](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10176670-0001.pdf) - [If that address does not open, try this one](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10176670-9999.pdf) The document is the manufacturer's.
